Get Involved with New Leaf Collaborative

At New Leaf Collaborative, we believe the best learning happens through curiosity, creativity, and hands-on experiences. Every day, we work to inspire children and families throughout Contra Costa County through science, nature, environmental education, and creative exploration. The exciting part? You don't have to be a scientist or educator to make a difference. There are so many ways for community members to support our mission and help create meaningful learning opportunities for local youth.

Whether you have time, talents, resources, or simply a passion for helping children learn, we'd love to connect with you. Here are a few ways you can get involved:

  • Make a charitable, tax-deductible donation to help fund programs and workshops

  • Volunteer your time at events, workshops, and community activities

  • Share your expertise as a mentor, consultant, or hands-on activity leader

  • Join our mailing list to stay informed about upcoming opportunities

  • Follow and engage with us on Facebook

  • Help bring a Science Workshop or Garden Workshop to your school, neighborhood, or community group

We're also actively seeking passionate community members to join our Board of Directors. If you have nonprofit experience, governance knowledge, professional expertise, or strong community connections in Contra Costa County, serving on our board is a meaningful way to help shape the future of our organization. Board members play an important role in expanding our impact and ensuring that hands-on learning opportunities continue to reach local students and families.

Another great way to support New Leaf Collaborative is through in-kind donations. The Contra Costa Science Workshop is always looking for materials that spark imagination and discovery, including recycled materials, old electronics, scrap wood, crafting supplies, tools, musical instruments, and interactive exhibits. Every donated item has the potential to become part of a child's next great experiment or creative project. Most importantly, we encourage everyone to embrace the spirit of sustainability by reducing, reusing, recycling, and caring for our shared resources. Together, we can inspire the next generation of thinkers, makers, problem-solvers, and environmental stewards.

Interested in getting involved? We'd love to hear from you. Contact us at info@newleafcollaborative.org to volunteer, donate supplies, explore board service, or learn more about bringing a program to your community.

As physicist Richard Feynman famously said, "Science doesn't teach anything, experience teaches it." Help us create more opportunities for those experiences to happen right here in Contra Costa County.
